Crystals have unique characteristics and properties as minerals, emitting a specific energetic frequency. So when you put a mineral, such as a crystal, within your own energy field, if modifies your energy to attune
to the frequency of the mineral.
Think of the food you eat.
When you grow fresh vegetables, not only do they generally taste much better, but you feel better, because the energetic characteristics have greater integrity than vegetables that are mass produced and treated with chemicals. You can actually feel the difference within your own life-force energy.

How to Choose Crystals for your Animal Companion
When you are choosing crystals, ensure you are in a calm state of mind and focused fully on allowing your intuition to open up. With a still mind, ask inwardly:
"Which crystal will offer the support my dear one is needing right now".
Pay attention to which crystal enters your thoughts or catches your eye first. Perhaps you pick up a few different ones, and one just feels like it wants to stay in your hand.
Some people can actually feel the energetic field more strongly. Other people just have an indescribable sense of knowing which one is calling to them.
Trust what comes to you
If you already have a crystal collection at home, you can lay them out on the floor (as long as your dog isn’t tempted to eat them), and let your pup check them out. Sometimes, they will gravitate towards a particular one, or maybe choose to lay near one that feels good to them when they are left out for them to explore.

Cleansing & Charging Your Crystals
Once you and your animal companion have decided the best suited crystals for them, they will need to be charged and then cleansed from time to time to replenish their energetic field.
This is because the natural elements of earth are their home, so once removed, they will render the benefits you wish to access if they are frequently cleansed and recharged.
There are a variety of ways to charge crystals and below are just a few suggestions. You can find many more methods online or in books, with even more detail on which ways might work best for certain types of crystals.
- Run them under cool water from the tap or in a stream for a few minutes. Avoid Stagnant water for cleansing
- After this, you can lay them out in the sun during daylight hours, taking care to turn them every few hours
- Lay them on a bed of pure salt for several hours, taking care to turn them every few hours
- Lay them in the moonlight, especially of the full moon
